Winthrop Police Blotter Highlights

I think that it's pretty necessary to post the best calls that the Winthrop Police gets on a weekly basis. It's the reason that I subscribe to the local paper!!

This week was pretty standard. Because the hurricane just happened, it was mostly downed tree limbs, problems with power lines, people on the sea wall etc.

Seeing as Halloween just passed, I guess this was the best of the bunch:

Saturday, Oct 27
Caller from Viking Gardens reports someone put notes in his mailbox “Beware of the Boogie-Man.”

Here's a few more hilites from September and October.

Us Winthopites are just so trusting, and on the ball...

Woman from Woodside Avenue came into the station to report that she received a message on her computer at home stating that her computer would be locked by the FBI if a $200 fee was not paid. She was instructed to get a moneyPak from CVS and put code into web page. She did this and realized after the fact that this was in fact not a real virus message.

Even the oldies are getting wasted...

Party called to report that an elderly man looks high and is passing out at the bus station at Revere Street and Governors Drive.

The gentlemen callers sure know how to treat a lady...

Female called to report that a male from Golden Drive was bothering her at the taxi office. She reports that he repeatedly wanted to take her to dinner and have her go to his apartment for wine. This occurred several times throughout the day. She stated that the male said that “he would tie a rope around her neck and drag her to the restaurant” and then he laughed about it. She just wanted it noted at this time and will call back and report it if it occurs again. She has reported it to the person in charge of the business as well.

Fuck, call 911, no one's looking after the yard sale.

Caller on Revere Street reports that his neighbors are having a yard sale and it appears to have been left unattended. Caller state people appear to be leaving with items they haven’t paid for. W92 reports speaking to owner who states that there is no theft, and that those items were picked up by the boys and girls club for charity.

We also like to treat our roadkill with dignity, and make sure to use compassionate language when dealing with such a sensitive matter...

Caller reports that a raccoon was struck by a car on Veterans Road and barely hanging on. ACO notified and he will handle the aid of the raccoon who has passed on.

RIP, eggs...

Party on Cottage Park Road requests an officer as something has been thrown at his vehicle. He is unsure of the nature of the item and would like to see an officer. Off. Hickey dispatched and reports that it appears that the vehicle was struck by eggs and the culprits ran down Woodside Avenue. No damage other than broken eggs to the vehicle and units will search the area.

Now the cops are being called from inside the jail?...

A criminal complaint was logged against a prisoner who damaged five blankets and a camera casing as a result of him flooding the cell block area.

Here's one way to take out your anger...

...He is in a rage. Just before receiving this call, a neighbor on Sturgis Street called to report that father was spraying the name of his daughter on his house with shaving cream.

Now, this is just unfair. Star Nails actually rules...

911 call that kids just threw a stink bomb in the Star Nails on Crest Avenue. No damage done. Caller advised by officers.

THIS IS THE WHOLE REPORT:

Report of a cat walking around her house on Bartlett Road.

What a trickster!

Someone on Shirley Street reports a male in his 50’s is ringing the doorbells asking for $100. The party does not know him and would like him to leave the area. Reported that he left on foot toward the Laundromat on Shirley Street. Supposedly, the party was playing a joke on some people. Apparently not the caller.

Who even steals a lady's cane while she's at the liquor store?

Female called to report that someone took her gray cane while she was near Swetts in the center. Someone informed her that they saw a black woman walking up Bartlett Road with the cane. W93 Officer Curran located that cane and returned it to the proper owner.

Eloquent.

Party reports her basement is filling up with stinky water on Court Road. WFD notified.

Caller from Revere Street reports  man with no pants on running around neighborhood. Units report searching area to no avail.

911 abandoned call. On the call back, party stated that his mother is “hammered”.

Now THIS is a crime...

Caller from Winthrop Market reports a car threw pizza out the window. Unit reports locating the driver at her house and the elderly female stated that she was driving by at the time but it was another vehicle with two males in it that threw the pizza out the window.

...I really hope this wasn't Frank...

Male reports a male urinated on his front lawn on Shirley Street and is intoxicated. Units advised to be on the lookout in the area. Area check negative at this time.
